Thanks to all the coaches, parents, volunteers and participants for making the first practice a great success at the Summit Center Indoor Track. With over 54 athletes and 13 coaches it was quite a challenge to manage that much energy in a confined space. By the smiles on the participants faces, it was clear that they all had a great practice, reunited with some old friends and met some new ones.

I wanted to give a shout out to the Rocky Island Swim Club coaches, Beth, Caitlin and Caroline, who did a phenomenal job putting the groups energy to work in their agility and core stations. Thanks to the Track club coaches: Rick, Steve, Kip, Heather, Tyler, Elizabeth, Patrick, Douglas and Brady who made things work on the indoor track and running the exercise stations. To Danusia and Marion for helping me with registrations, receipts, and the fast paced t-shirt sizing station. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Parents thank you for your patience amongst the chaos indoors. I hope we answered your questions, put smiles on your kids faces and tired them out 🙂

Next week’s practices:

Monday Apr 30th, Conroy Park Track (the new rubber track), 5:30 to 7:00pm.

Thursday May 3rd, Lookout Track and Field (behind Summit Centre), 5:30 to 7:00pm.

Bring clothes appropriate for the weather (layers!), water and a snack for afterwards.
